FlatBed 3D is a high precision 3D scanner that still in an early phase of development. Flatbed 3D is intended to allow you to 3D capture objects by fitting a
dual laser scan module on a coordinate type
table such as a CNC router/mill/lathe. Along
with a supplied USB controller (STEP&DIR) you
can use your existing CNC machine to 3D scan
objects using FlatBed 3D. The system is
occlusion resistant, completely scalable and
semi turn-key in its operation. Once captured
you can then view, modify and store the 3D data
on you PC. The data may also be exported to
graphics and CAD applications for further post

What can I scan?
If your laser or projection device can
illuminated it with a thin line and your
camera can capture this then there is a solid
chance that FlatBed 3D can scan it in. And,
includes many features to make the process as
easy as possible while still allowing advanced
users to set things the way they want.
How does it work?
The scanner head placed in the tool holder of the CNC system is moved stepwise over the object. Hereby the system uses the excising CNC hardware to ensure a accurate motion and positioning. A USB controlled interface will enable the software to control the CNC hardware directly thus eliminating synchronization errors between the scanner and the CNC system that could occur otherwise. The dual laser setup ensures that occlusions are minimized.
