GRASP 3D is a 3D topographic scanner that allows you to
scan in objects in 3D using a video camera, a laser
line that is swept over the object by hand and some basic materials. Its technology is
easy to use with minimal reliance on hardware.
Absolutely low cost. Yet it has the potential to
rival some of the best scanners on the market in
many different ways.

What can I scan?
If your laser or projection device can
illuminated it with a thin line and your camera
can capture this then there is a solid chance that
GRASP 3D can scan it in. And, GRASP 3D includes many
features to make the process as easy as possible
while still allowing advanced users to set things
the way they want.
Manually a laser line is swept "brushed" over
the object while a camera captures the process.
Using a known shape within the image, the GRASP
3D software calculates the laser angles and uses
this to create a virtual representation of the
object scanned.
As an alternative to a laser it is also
possible to use a beamer combined with the
intricad line
projector software.
For the best results and easy scanning the
GRASP markers should be
used.
